Tea Cocktail: Casablanca

Did you know that combining Earl Grey and Moroccan Mint is sometimes called a Casablanca blend? It’s true! The combination of bergamot and mint is perfect as an iced tea, and we thought it’d make one beautiful tea-infused cocktail. Here’s a refreshing spin on a Gin & Tonic that would be ideal for any garden party (or a day by the pool).

THE CASABLANCA
4 oz Gin
4 oz Casablanca simple syrup*
4 oz tonic water
Squeeze of lemon
Fresh mint

Combine gin, simple syrup and a squeeze of lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with tonic water and stir gently. Garnish with fresh mint and enjoy! Here’s looking at you, kid.

CASABLANCA SIMPLE SYRUP:
2 tbsp Earl Grey
2 tbsp Moroccan Mint
4 tbsp Raw sugar (we use German rock sugar)

Bring 16oz water to a boil then remove from stove. Pour into a measuring cup then add Earl Grey and Moroccan Mint. Steep for 3 minutes then strain into a glass or bowl. Add German Rock Sugar and stir until dissolved.
