This year’s harvest is a smooth, full-bodied, tea with mild muscat notes reminiscent of a second flush Darjeeling, and a touch dry in the finish, though not as astringent as a Darjeeling. Pleasing bolder notes of raisin and oats with a lingering sweetness in the finish. Ideal for a breakfast tea.
Our Andes Mountain Mist is a rare Colombian black tea, sourced from the Chocó region of the Andes Mountains, and grown at an elevation of 6,000 feet above sea level. While Colombia is known more for coffee production, the Bitaco tea garden has begun producing exquisite Orthodox grade teas. Grown near the Bitaco Regional Forest Reserve, a protected rain forest, Bitaco’s tea gardens benefit from nutrient-rich volcanic soil, which greatly influences the lush flavor profiles of their black teas.
We recommend steeping Andes Mountain Mist for 3 minutes at 195°.
Ingredients: Black tea.
