The base tea for this blend is a Chinese oolong known as Bai Ya Qi Lan. Produced in Pinghe County of South Fujian, it is one of the four famous teas of Fujian Province. Similar to another famous Fuijan tea, Ti Kwan Yin, it is lightly oxidized and tightly rolled. This tea is smooth and full-bodied with a characteristic fragrant orchid flavor. The delicate leaves are infused with lavender, achieving an elegant aroma and flavor. This exceptional oolong has a light, sweet body with a long, lingering finish.

Oolongs are only partially oxidized. That is how they differ from other types of tea. Whereas black teas are fully oxidized and green teas are completely un-oxidized, oolongs fall somewhere in between amidst a wide spectrum of flavor profiles. Our Lavender Oolong falls toward the less oxidized end of the spectrum, creating a light, smooth body and delicate floral aroma
Our Lavender Oolong is what we might call a “desert island” tea. If you were marooned on a desert island and could only have one tea…we love pairing Lavender Oolong with shortbread cookies or light, vanilla flavored desserts.
We recommend steeping Lavender Oolong for 3 minutes at 195°. High altitude oolongs are well known for their ability to withstand multiple steeps. Make sure to reuse these leaves several times before calling it a day. Lavender Oolong only gets better the second time around…and third…and fourth…and fifth…
Ingredients: Oolong tea, Organic Lavender, flavoring.
