Our classic chai is richly flavored using traditional Indian Masala spices. Robust, full-bodied organic black tea blended with cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, clove and black pepper.
In India and many other parts of the world the word “chai” simply means tea. Elsewhere, the term chai has come to represent a genre of teas that share several ingredients in common, such as: cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and peppercorns.
We love chai. Who doesn’t? We like it so much that we offer several different variations, but this version is a classic and the most traditional of all our chai options. For a chai sans caffeine, try our Charleston Chai. Just can’t get enough caffeine? Try our roasted Maté Chai.
Our Masala Chai is best sweetened with a little milk and sugar. In fact, it’s intentionally sharp in the expectation that it will be sweetened a bit. We’ve often been told that we make the world’s best Chai latte and we agree! To replicate it at home, use 1 tsp. of Masala Chai and 2 tsp. of sugar per cup (8 oz of water). Top it off with a little milk and a heap of foam.
Try drinking our Masala Chai with Indian food, cinnamon scones or chocolate. You can even bake with it! Cupcakes with Lola has a fantastic recipe for chocolate chai cupcakes.
We recommend steeping Masala Chai for 3-4 minutes at 195°.
Ingredients: Black tea, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, clove and black pepper.

This Chai Tea Is By Far The Best Chai Tea I Have Ever Had The Pleasure Of Making At Home. Forget Spending Over $5 At Starbucks For A Cup Of Chai Tea And Brew This In You PJ’s. I Personally Sweeten My Chai Tea With Agave But It Is Great With Regular Sugar as Well!
