Mint Julep is created using Silver Needle white tea as its base. Silver Needle, or Yin Zhen as it is traditionally called, is one of the world’s most prized white teas. It consists of only the choicest new buds of the tea plant harvested before they have a chance to open into leaves. It has a subtle, slightly sweet flavor profile with light floral notes and an understated vegetal quality.
White tea differs from various other types of tea in that it is less processed. It comes from the same Camellia Sinensis plant as all other tea; however, the leaves are not manipulated to encourage oxidation (as with oolongs and black teas), nor are they heated to prevent oxidation (as with green teas). White tea is simply withered to remove the moisture from the leaves and then dried to remove any remaining humidity not eliminated during the withering process. Loose leaf white tea represents tea in its most natural, unaltered state.
Mint Julep is a perfect choice for just after dinner. Drink it alone as an apertif or pair it with chocolate, creme brulee or profiteroles.
During dinner, try it with roasted chicken and steamed vegetables.
We recommend steeping Mint Julep for 3 minutes at 180°.

Underwhelming. If you want a gentle flavor tea, this is for you. If you want something with a kick, try Moroccan mint or peppermint leaf. A delicate tea, but not what I was looking for and it is one of the most expensive ones sold.

As you mentioned, this tea is extremely delicate as it is a white tea, which tends to be much more subtle and restrained than other tea types. The inclusion of Silver Needle in the blend is one reason for it’s higher price, as Silver Needle is considered one of the most prized and sought after types of white tea in the world.
