Cooked Puerh tea coins pressed with Nuo Mi Xiang, a Chinese herb with a strong flavor reminiscent of aromatic sticky rice. The result is a satisfyingly savory brew with a rich, earthy flavor profile balanced by hints of vanilla.
Each coin constitutes a single 12-14 oz portion. Infuse multiple times.
To steep the pressed tea cake, rinse first with hot water. This action will allow the tea cake to break apart while steeping. We recommend then steeping Sticky Rice Pu-erh for 5 minutes at 195°.

Cooked Puerhs, also known as Shou Puerhs (or ripe Puerhs), go through an accelerated aging process to achieve fermentation without the need for a prolonged, and often costly, aging and storing process. Cooked Puerhs become dark and earthy and pleasantly smooth in a matter of weeks thanks to a process referred to as wet-piling; whereas, Raw Puerhs (also known as Sheng Puerhs) ferment slowly over time, taking years, sometimes decades, to develop. While Raw Puerhs are prized for their rarity, their complexity and their wide range of flavor profiles, Cooked Puerhs often represent a more cost effective and expedient alternative.

I can always count on TeBella having the most unique flavors I have ever seen. I was shopping for floral teas for a friend, and on the tea wall, “Sticky Rice” caught my attention. I had to ask about it. The wonderful women there got excited telling me about it. When they wafted the tea leaves, yes, it smells just like freshly cooked rice! I could have closed my eyes and sworn there was a rice cooker on the counter! I decided to get a small amount of it as a treat for myself. It is weird, but also that’s what’s intriguing. The smell of cooked to rice smells humble and comforting, and nourishing. I was really curious about it. I rinsed the puck as they suggested, then steeped. It was the blackest tea I have ever seen. Could not see through it at all. I added sugar and splash of milk and now it looks like hot chocolate. The taste is like rice, but not in a gross way. It really provides a homey, comforting cup. I’ve tried it warm and cold and both are great. I prefer it hot though, because it is more aromatic that way. What a cool experience, where a tea feels like peace. I am on my last puck, will definitely be getting more. It is so relaxing and I just love it! I am so glad they introduced me to this! If you are on the fence, ask if you can do the sample bag of it for 3 pucks like I did. Now to get a big tin of it…
